It is FEB 9 as I write this! Time is blowing by. We are entering a funny time of the year. Every year in Jan people make resolutions, to go to the gym, fix their finances, etc. They also make spiritual resolutions: to read the bible, to go to church, to have personal devotion time, etc. THIS is the week where most churches (and gyms;-) report a noticeable drop-off in attendance (and where many would-be bible readers lose interest/get busy/forget or just give up).
Probably one reason this seems so important to me is because of what I’m hearing from our mission work in INDIA. As you know, we’ve sponsored 30 church planters in India, and are well on our way to planting 60 churches there. Those churches are facing unprecedented persecution lately. Check out these facts from OPEN DOORS, a ministry that tracks Christian persecution:
In the catagory of physical violence;
Let’s pray for our brothers and sisters in India! Let’s praise God for the blessings and Christian freedom that they would love to have. AND LET’S ENJOY THEM! Go to church (some are dying for that privilege), worship freely (like they would love to), read the Bible (that you are so blessed to own), be BOLD in sharing your faith (really, what’s the downside?)
I can’t wait to FREELY meet with you and praise Jesus with you, and share his word with you this weekend.
with love from your brother,
PS – don’t forget the volunteer appreciation dinner Sun evening!
